In addition we can retrace the history of Picasso and visit the artist’s birth home and Museo Picasso Málaga’s permanent collection or discover the costumbrist art at the Museo Carmen Thyssen.
After that take your time to relax yourselves in the peaceful atmosphere of the Paseo del Parque, the Málaga’s botanical garden with amazing tropical plants and trees, or to explore the Muelle 1, the waterfront open-air mall by the port. Don’t leave without trying one of the city’s local specialities, the espetos, skewers with little sardines.

Let’s enjoy the view of the Guadalevin Valley from the parapet of the New Bridge overlooking the Tajo gorge, shaped by the slow flowing of the river. This route gives participants the chance to experience through a special voyage back in time the so-called heart of Andalusia. You will discover the dolmen (megalithic tombs, dating from about 3000 BC) inscribed on Unesco’s World Heritage List in 2017, the Roman and Moorish vestiges, as well as the magnificent Gothic churches and the Renaissance and Baroque buildings.
From the upper town you will admire a panoramic view over the historic centre of Antequera whose richness has made it worth of the nickname Florence of Andalusia as well as of the Lovers’ Rock due to the resemblance to the profile of a man. It is highly recommended a visit to the natural park of El Torcal with its extraordinary limestone rock formations dating back to the era when the whole area was under sea until one hundred million years ago.

Take the opportunity to discover Triana, on the opposite side of the Guadalquivir River, that was traditionally home to sailors, bullfighters, potters and flamenco dancers or climb the Metropol Parasol, the city icon, locally known as las setas (the mushrooms) and get a fairly great 360 degree view of the city.

To feel the atmosphere of One Thousand and One Nights let’s discover the Alhambra, one of Spain’s most visited sites, first from the miradores (viewpoints) of the Albaicín district.
