Turin Royal Palace Guided Tour
The Royal Palace of Turin, recognised by Unesco as a World Heritage Site, is the most important royal residence in Piedmont. A representative place where the House of Savoy played a crucial role in Italy’s unification and Turin became the centre of political life.
Taking a guided tour will allow you to discover the Royal Apartments and the ceremonial rooms, with golden ceilings and inlay floors, the Throne room and the impressive Ballroom and to relive the pomp, court dances and Treaties of State that once were.
The tour continues with the the spectacular Royal Armoury, the Chapel of the Holy Shroud designed by the architect Guarino Guarini and the Royal Gardens on the old ramparts.
In addition to the Royal Palace, if you wish, you can also the visit the ancient government buildings! Palazzo Madama, which housed Italy’s Upper House and Palazzo Carignano, which housed Italy’s Lower House are undoubtedly fine examples of Baroque architecture.
